I Get By With A Little Help from My Friends.....

Not so long ago I was lucky enough in my internet wanderings to stumble on Witch Hollow Primitives. I complimented her work, that I LOVE, never dreaming of the email exchanges to follow. Over time she has become my BEST friend. Not only is she one of the most talented artists out there, she is also one of the BEST people I have ever been blessed to know. I would encourage anyone to click on her link above and check out her blog, and various other sites. You won't be disappointed. Thank you Heather, for the award - you flatter me. I love you, big.
In the spirit of this award I am going to pass it on to another fellow blogger who has always been very kind to me and is fantastically talented herself. Please click on the link below and do not be put off by the fact that it does not appear to be in English! Scroll down as she is kind enough to list a translation for those of us who are not linguists. :-)
**Correction**
Sometimes I miss the obvious...like I was supposed to list seven unusual things that I love. Sorry! Here goes:
1. The Full Moon
2. My youngest son telling me things like "My hands smell like dead fish and soap, here smell.."
3. How my older son comes up with nick names and catch phrases for the people close to his heart
4. Parking on the side of the road in Illinois and there are just fields for miles, it's like being at the ocean and staring off into the horizon.
5. Reptiles. Snakes, lizards...anything like that.
6. A small amount of coffee with my cream and sugar.
7. The smell of children fresh from playing outside, especially my own.

Just like Candy...

It can be hard to find a true red, especially in beads. So when I found these I snapped them right up. My little one told me that they looked just like candy, silver swirls and all.

More Frosted Glass

I love the green in this piece. It feels like spring time to me.

Yellow Frosted Glass

I'm still loving these frosted glass pieces. I am constantly thinking of new ways to put them all together and make something new and different. Hopefully I will run out of ideas before I break my bead budget. :-)

More Glass Beads....

Another foray into prefabricated, wire wrapped, glass beads. I still want to learn to do it for myself but have gotten completely side tracked working with lengths of chain. I'll get to it, but don't know when. This piece is much prettier in "person" than it photographs...guess that is why it sold right away! I hope the buyer gets lots and lots of enjoyment out of it. :-)

Shimmermeblue was kind enough to give me this award.

“These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.”

Now I pass this award on to the following great blogs:

VoicefromJamiaca
WithHollowPrimitives
PerfectlyTwistedJewelry
ClayPerry
Kokopelli
TheWhimsicalGoblin
HeartofGoldplate & DexterBaby (She has two)
DreamsofPureLove

Thanks so much ShimmermeBlue. Not just for the award, but for your faithful blogging friendship and comments. I appreciate it more than I can say. :-)

Kokopelli, I found some more blue!

Here is another piece I finished during our snow day here in Georgia. If you've been reading you already know I am partial to blue. I find myself drawn more and more to these frosted glass pieces too.
It isn't a "classic" blue Kokopelli, but still so pretty. I love how they swirled the two shades together - giving me two blues for the price of one! :-)

Yellow Beads and Butterflies

Last weekend my youngest was with me at the bead store. He likes to dig around in the "treasure chest" boxes and find things for me. He found these yellow beads and decided I needed to make a necklace with them and with butterflies. Here you go James, I hope you approve. :-)

Key to My Heart....

I just recently started working with chain lengths. I find my head crammed full of ideas. Sunday I was on a roll and finished multiple pieces, including this one. I loved the heart pendant and was pleased with how the dangle I made for the key worked out. Frankie fell in love with it. I hope she enjoys wearing it as much as I enjoyed making it.

Hummingbirds

Here is another new piece I finished on our snow day this weekend. The pendant is a frosted glass square the depicts a hummingbird and flowers. I loved the simplicity of it.

Copper

I found some copper chain lengths this week. I was also lucky enough to find copper connectors and some beautiful glass beads with browns and coppers swirled in. I made dangles for the earrings using the connectors and some of the copper seed and bugle beads. I was really pleased with how it all came together. Some pieces take many tries and reworks before I am happy with them. This one seemed to have a mind of it's own, and in a blink it was done.
